Making sense of complex human realities
I work with individuals, practitioners, leaders, and organisations to bring clarity to emotional, relational, and organisational complexity — so that wiser, more grounded action becomes possible.
Therapy, reflective practice, consultancy, teaching, and developmental work with Gary Hawke.
What I can help with
My work is for people and organisations who are trying to understand what is really going on beneath the surface. This may involve personal change, emotional difficulty, relational patterns, leadership challenges, creative blocks, or the need to think more clearly in complex situations.
I draw on more than three decades of experience across therapy, Dramatherapy, reflective practice, education, leadership development, and work with human change. In practice, this means bringing together psychological, developmental, philosophical, creative, and systemic approaches, while always returning to the practical question: what is happening here, what is getting in the way, and what kind of action is now possible?
A question that often guides my work is: what must the world be like for this to make sense?
This question helps us look beneath surface explanations. Rather than rushing to label a problem or apply a technique, we explore the wider conditions that may be shaping experience: personal history, relationship, body, imagination, culture, work, loss, conflict, and possibility. The aim is not simply insight, but clearer contact with reality, so that new forms of action can become available.
Ways of working
One-to-one therapeutic work
A reflective space for personal, emotional, existential, and relational work. We look carefully at patterns, blocks, losses, conflicts, and possibilities, not in order to label you, but to understand what has shaped your life and what may now be ready to change.
Reflective practice and professional mentoring
For practitioners, students, educators, coaches, and helping professionals who want a thoughtful space to explore ideas, practice, ethical complexity, relational dynamics, stuckness, and professional development.
Consultancy, leadership, and organisational sense-making
For leaders, teams, and organisations working with change, communication, motivation, culture, creativity, and growth. The focus is on making hidden dynamics visible enough to work with.
A grounded approach to depth and change
I do not work from a single fixed model. I bring together therapeutic practice, creative process, developmental thinking, systems awareness, and philosophical depth. My orientation is practical and compassionate: to help reveal what is happening, what is getting in the way, and what forms of action may now be possible.
Depth without jargon
Understanding deeper patterns without losing ordinary human language.
Compassion without collusion
Meeting experience kindly while still allowing reality to be seen.
Change without force
Supporting transformation that is grounded, ethical, and sustainable.
