Within my work I do not follow a defined therapeutic  model, or approach as I believe this does not provide the best service to the people I work with; together you and I create the therapeutic model though a working alliance.

All I do is ensure that the model we create provides the best possible outcome for the change you want to make in your life. Not only do I believe this approach to be the best process for change, the people I work with trust me in this model building for change.

I am proud to know that the work I have spent so long perfecting has such a powerful impact for the people I work with.

Not only do I work with people one to one, I also offer workshops and retreats. If you would like to read reviews and people’s experience of my workshops you can find here.

Working with Gary

“I have worked with several life coaches and Gary is the best I know by a mile. He is a well of knowledge in developmental psychology, continually keeping abreast of the latest research and theories. He has a unique ability to integrate these seamlessly into his approach, enabling him to offer multiple perspectives on any issues. Above all, Gary is a very fine individual, who is deeply sensitive to others. This means he is able to picks up on the untold, which makes him a very skilled coach and therapist. His work ethics is exemplary and I fully trust him as a person.”

Fay Israsena –
Associate Director at Smithfield Consultants

“Gary has worked with me for a number of years now and his insights and coaching style have been invaluable to my life and well being. He has been a guide through challenging and difficult times and his wisdom in matters of the personal and interpersonal have had a tremendous impact on me.”
I highly recommend his coaching work”.

Donald Clark –
Creative Social and Media entrepreneur

“Personal & professional care has been something I let lapse as a priority since my arrival into a new work life in Asia. I was seeking a coach who could help me not only dissect client relational issues but work more deeply with my own personal / professional needs. Gary was highly recommended and I have found him to be one of the most insightful, deeply perceptive coaches I have had the privilege to work with. His questions linger long after they are asked and toil away in the subconscious. Since working with Gary I have new found energy and freedom and have found my client work lift in standard. His skills to see relational dynamics and explore the psychological are incredibly impressive. His subtle techniques provide the space to explore our own truths and the shadows we cast.”

Bel Popovic –
Organisational Psychologist
HRI International

“I have engaged Gary on several occasions to facilitate clarification and a thorough exploration of obstacles and possibilities. I also use him as a professional sounding board to unravel relational or psychological dynamics that impact business. A key benefit I consistently find when working with Gary is that he knows how to uncover hidden possibilities and potential and to help me free resistance or unwanted doubt. For anyone in business, wanting to harness their personal power and leverage their full potential in work or private matters, Gary has disarming and subtle techniques to do this. I recommend his service for any team or individual wanting greater clarity and alignment.”

Martin Egan PhD –
Director New Direction Consulting

“I was the Project Manager at the Peel Centre for the Older Persons Service, and included in our activity timetable was an emphasis on therapeutic support – an area that Gary Hawke was consulted with on many occasions. Initially Gary supervised a weekly well-being support group, for older people who had anxiety concerns. During this period Gary worked closely with six clients, all of who benefited from the insight gained from their peers and Gary’s knowledge. Gary also provided 1-1 counselling sessions with clients, and his approach and willingness to support our clients reflected his high standards and ability to connect and empathise with those who attended the Peel Centre. As well as contracting Gary for the above sessions, I also used him as an independent advisor in the Peel’s re-structuring development. Gary provided valuable insight for the organisation and myself personally as the older person service went through a change management process.”

John Richard –
Camden Community Coordinator

“I have a huge amount of respect for the level work Gary does and level of transformation he is able to facilitate. This Mindful Walking session was taken along with sessions provided in the regular format Gary works with. I would recommend anyone who is engaging in any type of self-discovery, and anyone searching to re-connect to the freedom we all hold inside, to let this be one of the tools you use for your journey.”

Anna-Cajsa Johansson –
Complementary Therapist

“Gary Hawke combines three unusual abilities. He thoroughly understands critical realism, a complex philosophy that confuses many academics, and he has worked closely with the founder Prof Roy Bhaskar. Second, he can explain critical realism in very clear terms to people working in a wide range of professions and disciplines. Third, Gary works well with them all on practical understanding of how they may apply critical realism in their teaching, research or other work concerned with transformative change. Gary and I have co-convened regular seminars on critical realism since 2014 and I am always impressed by his excellent teaching, as well as his all-round skills in organising the sessions.”

Priscilla Alderson PhD –
Professor of Childhood Studies, University College London

“A great surprise was one question worded and aimed with laser-sharp precision, which triggered such a significant insight that a whole mental construct about what I thought to be true crushed and collapsed like a house of cards, to reveal a sense of relief and freedom, and a distinct body-felt flow where the tension had been just minutes before. This happened halfway through our session, and I was amazed to be so soon freed from a limiting belief, and able to see what was really true for me.I can’t thank you enough for this session, Gary, for your wisdom, skill and kindness.”

T Saler – Ottawa, Canada

“Quite a few years ago, I decided to engage in psychotherapy on a regular basis to maximise my emotional and mental well-being, in the same way that one goes to the gym regularly to maintain optimum physical health. I sought out the best therapist I could find, and my hunt led to Gary Hawke who lives in London, which is a long way from my home. So we set up Skype sessions, which I’ve been doing, when I feel the need to, for about 7 years now (maybe even longer) it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Skype makes the whole thing more affordable, as there is no premises to rent etc. If you are interested in going from a good life, to an excellent life, I recommend contacting Gary.”
